Double Stout brewed with lactose and brown sugar, aged in whiskey casks, and conditioned on adjuncts
As each year comes to a close, we celebrate by brewing a one-off stout for barrels. Brewed on New Years Eve 2018, Sunless Sea aged patiently in American whiskey casks for 19 months before seeing the light of day in 2020. Inspired by distinct black tea notes in the base beer, we chose to condition the double stout on vanilla beans, almonds, cardamom, cinnamon, and coriander. Allow this homage to South Asian tea culture to warm in the glass, bringing Sunless Seas complexity to full concert.
