Barley Wine style Ale aged in bourbon barrels and sherry casks
Brewed in the English Barleywine tradition, Double Barrel Brick Kiln was first aged in bourbon barrels for 12 months and then found its way into unique, bourbon-finishing sherry casks for an additional 6 months. The extended aging gives way to notes of leather, vanilla, and aromas of sherry cask aging. Named in tribute to the SE Ohio brick industry, the kilns of Athens Brick Company (est. 1890) once operated down the street from our current production brewery.
